The Blackburn Group, one Los Angeles organization for mental health, recovery and personal growth.

Our mission

The Blackburn Foundation extends recovery and long-term support to people and families affected by addiction.

We believe access to care is a basic human right. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity, launched in November 2023.

Our goal is to break the cycle of addiction and help people build lasting recovery.

Scholarships

Our scholarship program funds up to 12 months of addiction and mental health treatment.

  • Each case is assessed individually
  • May include detox, residential and outpatient treatment
  • May include therapy, psychiatry and mentoring
  • May include spiritual counseling and aftercare

Impact

Since launch, the Foundation has raised about $1.95 million.

  • More than $1.65 million awarded in treatment scholarships
  • More than 100 people helped into treatment

Creative arts

We are building the Creative Arts Community Center, a free, welcoming space in Culver City.

The center will offer lessons, classes, workshops, performances and open studio time. Programming is free and low-barrier, with no auditions.

It serves people in addiction and recovery and the surrounding neighborhood. Learn more at bfcacc.org.

How it connects

The Foundation funds care; our other areas of service help deliver it.

Scholarships can cover services such as therapy, psychiatry, mentoring and aftercare, the same kinds of care offered across The Blackburn Group. With the recipient’s consent, the Foundation can work with our other teams to coordinate that care.
