Who it’s for

Blackburn Mentoring offers mentoring and coaching for people who want structure and direction.

  • High school students, with parents involved
  • College students, including first-year transitions
  • Young adults who feel stuck
  • Professionals working through a big goal or transition
  • Families supporting a loved one

What we work on

Each client works with one dedicated mentor on practical skills and steady progress.

  • Career and education
  • Money and life skills
  • Health and fitness
  • Relationships and family
  • Accountability and follow-through

How sessions work

Sessions usually run 60 minutes, by video anywhere in the US or in person in Los Angeles.

Clients can meet weekly or several times a week, with text and phone check-ins in between. Clients can switch between video and in person.

To start, complete a short assessment. The team reviews it personally and sets up a free intro call to talk through goals, schedule and fit.

Families

Families often reach out first, and parents stay part of the process.

For high school students, a parent or guardian joins the intro call, helps agree on goals and receives regular updates. For older clients, updates go to family only with the client’s permission.

Parents keep the household expectations and the relationship. The mentor handles weekly planning, reminders and follow-up.

How it connects

Mentoring is not therapy, and it fits alongside other care.

Mentors are not licensed clinicians, and mentoring does not replace medical or mental health treatment. With the client’s consent, mentors coordinate with Blackburn Clinical Services, Blackburn Recovery Services case managers and outside therapists, school counselors or doctors.
